Application Process

Fill out a LL Housing Authority Job Application or update an already submitted application. The application must be submitted before the closing date to be considered for the position. Aptitude Exam may be required as part of the interview process.

 

Applicants will be judged based on a five point system, the points are as follows:

  • Application - legibility, completion, accuracy, employment history, signature
  • Aptitude Exam - total score on exam
  • Housing Authority Employment History - points based on past employment history with LLHA
  • Native American Preference - points based on Tribal enrollment
  • U.S. Veteran Status - points based on veteran status

CUSTODIAL MAINTENANCE

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Housing Authority (LLHA) is seeking a highly motivated, independent, reliable, punctual, attention to detail individual for the following position in our Maintenance Department.

Description: Responsible for cleaning vacant units following move-out or renovation/rehab. This department is responsible for cleaning, light maintenance and upkeep of all LLHA owned buildings, including the Administrative offices.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous Cleaning experience preferred.  Good communication skills.  Knowledge of the safe handling and use of cleaning supplies and equipment. Must be dependable and reliable and must adhere to all confidentiality policies of the LLHA.

Wage: $12.00/hour Full-Time

CASE MANAGER

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Housing Authority (LLHA) is seeking a highly motivated, independent, compassionate, friendly individual with experience and desire to work with Homeless people.  This is a full-time position.

Description: Responsible for individual case management planning with homeless clients and families.  Connect individuals experiencing homelessness to the appropriate and most expedient housing solutions. Responsible for client intake and data entry utilizing the HMIS system and follow-up with referrals in accordance with the Homeless Resources Program policies.  Responsible for reporting requirements.  Advocates, provides guidance, and support to clients and refers them to other needed services available on and near the LL Reservation.  Must maintain strict confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.  Must have the desire, compassion and empathy to help people in need.  This position serves as a Mandated Reporter

Qualifications: AA Degree in Human Services or two years minimum related experience will be considered. Two years experience working with people with opiate use disorder preferred. Must have effective written and oral communication skills. Must be highly organized and motivated.  Knowledge of the LLHA and LLBO programs, services, communities and surrounding resources required.  Experience in MS Office computer software systems is a must.  Crisis Management experience a plus.  Must have empathy and patience.  Understanding of Native American Culture, values and lifestyles preferred.  Must have sensitivity, compassion and be respectful of all racial and diverse populations.

A valid MN Driver’s License is required and be insurable per the LLBO Fleet Management Driver/Motor Vehicle Record Criteria.

Admissions Specialist

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Housing Authority is currently seeking one highly motivated individual with Public Relations, Administrative and Human Services experience.  This position is a regular full-time position.

Description: Ensures applicant eligibility, certification and recertification including all pertinent documentation obtained.  Processes application and places certified applicant on the qualified program waiting/transfer list (Low Rent, Tax Credit, Acquisition, Mutual Help, Home Ownership and Veteran’s (VASH).  Ensure excellent service to all constituents.  Assist in all areas of the Housing Services department as needed; serves as backup for Receptionist.

Qualifications: AA Degree in Human Services preferred.  Minimum three years related experience in Housing or Human Services. Must have excellent organizational, public relation, interpersonal and communication skills.  Must have compassion, empathy and a desire to assist people. Knowledge and experience in standard office equipment. Experience in MS Office computer software systems is a must. A valid MN Driver’s License is required and be insurable per the LLBO Fleet Management Driver/Motor Vehicle Record Criteria.
