Application Process

Fill out a LL Housing Authority Job Application or update an already submitted application. The application must be submitted before the closing date to be considered for the position. Aptitude Exam may be required as part of the interview process.

 

Applicants will be judged based on a five point system, the points are as follows:

  • Application - legibility, completion, accuracy, employment history, signature
  • Aptitude Exam - total score on exam
  • Housing Authority Employment History - points based on past employment history with LLHA
  • Native American Preference - points based on Tribal enrollment
  • U.S. Veteran Status - points based on veteran status

Homless Resources Manager

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Housing Authority is currently seeking one highly motivated LLHA employee with knowledge in performing window treatments such as changing glass and screens. This position requires repair or replacement of entry and deadbolt locks in vacant units. Responsible for keeping a record of keys distributed to staff. This is a regular full-time position. Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable via LLBO Fleet Management Driver/Motor Vehicle Record Criteria.

Description: Responsible for oversight of all aspects of the LLHA Homeless Resources Program with the mission of creating a highly coordinated, homeless crisis response system that delivers outcomes and measures to effectively connect individuals experiencing homelessness to the appropriate and most expedient housing solutions. Work in partnership with the following team members and ensure requirements are met with but not limited to: HYA, FHPAP, ESP, LTH, SOR, HTF and VASH programs. Adherence to all Federal, State and County guidelines, policies and procedures of the LLHA Homeless Resources Program reporting and case management. Provide leadership, supervision, guidance and support to staff.

Qualifications: AA Degree in Human Services; high school diploma or equivalent will be considered with a minimum five years related management experience in Human Services. Must have grants management and departmental budget administration experience. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have experience in Microsoft Office computer software. Must be dependable and reliable. Knowledge of the LLHA and LLBO programs, resources and services. HMIS system knowledge a plus. Crisis Management experience is a plus. Must have empathy and patience.
A valid, Minnesota Driver’s License and be insurable per the LLBO Fleet Management criteria. Must submit to random drug/alcohol testing

Window Technician

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Housing Authority is currently seeking one highly motivated LLHA employee with knowledge in performing window treatments such as changing glass and screens. Description: Provides window and screen maintenance to all LLHA buildings of the Leech Lake Housing Authority. Measures and orders glass for windows; replaces and re-installs in units. Makes repairs to screens and re-installs. Establishes and maintains system for each unit that identifies all windows, doors and sizes for efficiency purposes. Replaces or fixes exterior and deadbolt locks in units as needed. Keeps a record of all keys distributed to staff. All other duties assigned.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in window installation, replacement and repair preferred. General knowledge of screens and replacing/repairing exterior locks and dead bolts a plus. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds unassisted, utilizing safe lifting techniques. Must be able to work in adverse conditions (dusty, dirty, wet, extremely cold, extremely hot, etc.) Must have the ability to crawl, stand, sit and reach repetitiously. Must have excellent organizational skills. Computer experience a plus. A valid, Minnesota Driver’s License is required, must be insurable in accordance with LLBO policy.

Wage: $15.78/Hour Full-Time

Maintenance Technician

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Housing Authority is currently seeking one highly motivated individual with experience in furnace, appliance, masonry, minor electrical, septic repair, minor plumbing and carpentry. Secondary certificate(s) and/or diploma in HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or electrical preferred. However, this position responsibilities will primarily be: Replacement and repairs to Windows and Screens. This position is a regular full-time position.

Description: Provides carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating and other repairs or replacements, and/or emergency repairs/replacements to all LL Housing Authority units and properties as needed. Must be available to be on-call 24 hours a day (weekends included) for emergency calls, etc. as assigned.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Secondary Certification(s) preferred. Minimum three years combined experience working in the following areas: furnace, appliance, masonry, electrical, septic, plumbing and/or carpentry. Must have the ability to speak with tenants in a professional manner. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds unassisted, utilizing safe lifting techniques. Must be able to work in adverse conditions (dusty, dirty, wet, extremely cold, extremely hot, etc.) Must have the ability to crawl, stand, sit and reach repetitiously. A valid, Minnesota Driver’s License is required and be insurable per the LLBO Fleet Management criteria.
