Application Process
Fill out a LL Housing Authority Job Application or update an already submitted application. The application must be submitted before the closing date to be considered for the position. Aptitude Exam may be required as part of the interview process.
Applicants will be judged based on a five point system, the points are as follows:
- Application - legibility, completion, accuracy, employment history, signature
- Aptitude Exam - total score on exam
- Housing Authority Employment History - points based on past employment history with LLHA
- Native American Preference - points based on Tribal enrollment
- U.S. Veteran Status - points based on veteran status

Tenant Advocate
The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Housing Authority is currently seeking one highly motivated individual with public/human relations and administrative experience. This position is a regular full-time position.
Description: Advocates and assists tenants/homebuyers to maintain compliance with all applicable policies and regulations. Must make home visits and be able to work with tenants by providing training and referrals as necessary. Case Manages tenants on Corrective Action Plans by monitoring progress. Coordinates, plans, organizes and manages functions related to providing services to tenants.
Qualifications: AA Degree in Human Services required, high school diploma or equivalent will be considered with minimum three years related experience in Housing or Human Services. Knowledge of the LLHA, LLBO and area programs, services and resources preferred. Must have compassion, empathy and a desire to assist and motivate people when necessary. Knowledge and experience in standard office equipment. Experience in MS Office computer software systems are a must. A valid MN Driver’s License is required and be insurable per the LLBO Fleet Management Driver/Motor Vehicle Record Criteria.
Wage: $16.12/ DOQ after 90 day-probationary period

Leech Lake Band Member preference, MCT, and other Native American preference apply. All applicants considered for hire must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Applicants will not be considered for employment for any felony convictions within the past 5 years including but not limited to crimes of violence, theft, drugs and/or alcohol. Any felony convictions for Sexual assault will not be considered for employment. The Leech Lake Housing Authority reserves the right to decline employment based upon background information as it pertains to certain positions.
An Aptitude test will be given during the interview process.
