Application Process

Fill out a LL Housing Authority Job Application or update an already submitted application. The application must be submitted before the closing date to be considered for the position. Aptitude Exam may be required as part of the interview process.

 

Applicants will be judged based on a five point system, the points are as follows:

  • Application - legibility, completion, accuracy, employment history, signature
  • Aptitude Exam - total score on exam
  • Housing Authority Employment History - points based on past employment history with LLHA
  • Native American Preference - points based on Tribal enrollment
  • U.S. Veteran Status - points based on veteran status

Case Manager

Description: Responsible for individual case management planning with homeless clients and families. Connect individuals experiencing homelessness to the appropriate and most expedient housing solutions. Responsible for client intake and data entry utilizing the HMIS system and follow-up with referrals in accordance with the Homeless Resources Program policies. Responsible for reporting requirements. Advocates, provides guidance, and support to clients and refers them to other needed services available on and near the LL Reservation. Must maintain strict confidentiality and professional ethics at all times. Must have the desire, compassion and empathy to help people in need. This position serves as a Mandated Reporter

Qualifications: AA Degree in Human Services or two years minimum related experience will be considered. Two years experience working with people with opiate use disorder preferred. Must have effective written and oral communication skills. Must be highly organized and motivated. Knowledge of the LLHA and LLBO programs, services, communities and surrounding resources required. Experience in MS Office computer software systems is a must. Crisis Management experience a plus. Must have empathy and patience. Understanding of Native American Culture, values and lifestyles preferred. Must have sensitivity, compassion and be respectful of all racial and diverse populations.

A valid Minnesota Driver’s License is required and must be insurable per the LLBO Fleet Management/Motor Vehicle Record criteria. Must submit to random drug/alcohol testing.

Wage: $17.32/hr-$24.83/hr. DOQ after successful completion of 90-day probationary period

Applicants will not be considered for employment for any felony convictions within the past 5 years including but not limited to crimes of violence, theft, drugs and/or alcohol. Any felony convictions for Sexual assault will not be considered for employment. The Leech Lake Housing Authority reserves the right to decline employment based upon background information as it pertains to certain positions.
