Application Process
Fill out a LL Housing Authority Job Application or update an already submitted application. The application must be submitted before the closing date to be considered for the position. Aptitude Exam may be required as part of the interview process.
Applicants will be judged based on a five point system, the points are as follows:
- Application - legibility, completion, accuracy, employment history, signature
- Aptitude Exam - total score on exam
- Housing Authority Employment History - points based on past employment history with LLHA
- Native American Preference - points based on Tribal enrollment
- U.S. Veteran Status - points based on veteran status
Entry Level Hiring Procedure
This method is only used for select, entry level positions and is not used for all positions.

Crew Leader
Description: Supervises a crew of carpenters to assure timely, safe performance and quality control of projects. Directs and performs all aspects of renovation and carpentry repairs assigned for renovation and repairing of existing housing for eligible tenants on the Leech Lake Reservation, may include new construction. Responsible for obtaining the equipment and materials needed to complete assigned tasks. Communicate with staff and other departments as needed to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Performs administrative duties as required.
Qualifications: High school diploma preferred or equivalent. Carpentry Certificate preferred or minimum five years’ construction experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Must have ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs. unassisted. Must have the ability to speak with tenants in a professional manner. Must be able to work in adverse conditions (dusty, dirty, wet, extremely cold, extremely hot, etc.) Must have the ability to crawl, stand, sit and reach repetitiously.
A valid Minnesota Driver’s License is required and be insurable per the LLBO Fleet Management criteria or must obtain within 90-day probationary period.
Wage: $18.61/hr-$26.64/hr. DOQ after successful completion of 90-day probationary period

Carpenter
